Day 01

Arrival in Arusha: prepare for the northern Serengeti

Arrive in Arusha and settle into a comfortable pre-safari stay. Your planning team confirms the live seasonal picture and the practical routing for the days ahead. We keep the first evening free of activities so you arrive recovered and can discuss the current migration reports with the planning team. The route is built around the best available seasonal intelligence, not a generic “crossing” promise. This first night is selected for more than convenience: it protects your recovery after an international flight, keeps the next morning straightforward and gives you a clear point of contact before the safari begins.

Day 02

Arusha to Central Serengeti by light aircraft

Fly into the Serengeti, avoiding an unnecessary long road day and arriving with time for your first game drive. The central plains offer a rich wildlife chapter before the northern frontier. The light-aircraft connection protects valuable time in the wilderness. On arrival, your guide meets you at the airstrip and begins game viewing immediately, with the route adapted to flight timing and current wildlife reports. We factor in real driving time, comfort stops, park formalities and a proper meal rather than publishing an optimistic transfer time. Your guide manages the practical flow quietly so the journey remains enjoyable.

Day 03

Central Serengeti: private predator and plains tracking

Day 04

Fly north: settle near the Mara River

Fly or travel north according to the final route. Settle into a camp positioned for the current seasonal pattern, with the afternoon left open for your first northern game drive. The northern camp is selected around the seasonal corridor and your preferred style of stay. After settling in, the first drive is unhurried; you may simply learn the landscape and follow whatever wildlife is active nearby. The route keeps enough flexibility for a slow lunch at camp, a private picnic or more time at a meaningful wildlife encounter. This is how the day stays rich without becoming relentlessly full.

Day 05

Northern Serengeti: patient, private migration tracking

Use the day to follow the herds, predator activity and river conditions. Your guide adapts the route continuously, balancing patience at a promising point with the wider wildlife opportunities around you. River-crossing days require patience, judgement and a willingness to let the natural event unfold. Your guide shares what they are seeing, explains why a particular river point is promising and balances waiting time with other excellent wildlife opportunities. Accommodation is matched to your selected level of comfort, with the final proposal showing exactly what changes in setting, room style, privacy, service and the way the stay supports the next day.

Day 06

A second day to follow the herds

A second full northern day protects the experience from the pressure of a single dramatic sighting. It allows you to enjoy the Serengeti as a whole, even when the crossings themselves take their own time. A second northern day gives the experience integrity. If a crossing happened the previous day, you can explore elsewhere; if it did not, you still have the time needed to remain flexible without feeling that every moment is under pressure. Your guide and lodge team coordinate the timing of meals, luggage and the following morning’s departure in advance. The operational detail is handled in the background, leaving the experience feeling calm and personal.

Day 07

Northern Serengeti to Ngorongoro

Leave the northern plains for the Ngorongoro highlands, timed around your preferred travel style. The change in landscape gives the journey a natural final contrast. The route to the Ngorongoro highlands is planned with sensible breaks and, where appropriate, an internal connection. This keeps the journey comfortable after several full wildlife days in the north. This chapter is deliberately protected from unnecessary extras. The best experiences are often the ones that have room for a change in weather, an unplanned sighting or simply the wish to slow down.

Day 08

Ngorongoro Crater and onward departure

Descend early into the crater, then transfer to Arusha or the airport for your onward arrangements. Your crater day is scheduled early to make the most of the cool morning wildlife activity. We arrange your lunch and onward transfer around your final flight, and can add an Arusha night if that makes the departure feel more relaxed. Any onward travel is confirmed against the final flight schedule and current road conditions. We do not leave the last connection to chance, and we will recommend an additional night whenever it creates a more comfortable end to the journey.
